Beef

Stepney Hill Farms Shorthorn Beef is a native breed to the area producing marbled beef. The intra muscular fat is a key ingredient to taste.

Our cattle are free to graze on natural clover and wild flower rich pastures. And for the finishing cattle 12 months to 30 months are also fed Barley, Beans and wheat straw out in the pastures to help produce marbling to the meat.

We have around 50 cows which are out in the pastures all year round until they are ready to calve in early October through to December, Then they are brought into the buildings and open yards, after they have calved they are back out to the rich pastures until next year when the calving start again. The calves are weaned from their mothers in late September just before they are due to give birth again.

All of our beef is home reared, slaughtered locally, hung for minimum of 21 days and freshly prepared for you.
